Customers who pick up their car from the UK mainland and wish to drive in the Republic of Ireland or continental Europe must purchase European travel insurance. European Travel Insurance provides the customer with our written consent (Form VE103B) allowing the customer to drive the vehicle in the countries listed below and obtain 24/7 international breakdown insurance through the AA.

In all cases, customers must notify the rental agency of their intention to leave the UK with the vehicle and apply for our authorization. Customers must notify the car rental company at least 72 hours prior to pickup in order to arrange their European travel insurance.

The European Travel Cover is only available for customers paying by credit card and the vehicle can only be used in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, UK. This includes the destinations and countries the customer can travel to. Premium, luxury and executive vehicles are not covered by European travel insurance products and therefore cannot leave the country.

European travel insurance costs GBP 300.00 per hire for all international travel. Customers who rent a car from Northern Ireland and wish to cross the border into the Republic of Ireland pay only £25.53.

Please note that we are unable to provide additional equipment that may be necessary when driving abroad (e.g. breathalyzers, warning triangles, first aid kits, etc.) as this is the responsibility of the driver. Customer should be aware of all destination requirements and any countries through which Customer may travel.

If the lessee does not elect to purchase optional fuel at the start of the lease period and does not return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at the start of the lease period (as stated in the lease agreement), the lessee will be required to pay a refueling service charge, calculated as This is calculated by multiplying the difference between the fuel quantity recorded on the rental agreement and the fuel quantity recorded when the car was returned, by the fuel price displayed at the branch, plus a maximum refueling charge of £15. Unused or excess fuel will not be refunded.

If the vehicle is electric and the vehicle is returned at a lower rate than stated at the beginning of the rental period (the level stated in the rental agreement summary), the charging fee is calculated in kWh required to charge the vehicle to compensate the rental agreement summary multiplied by the kWh value shown in the Rental Agreement Summary plus any additional charges stated in the Rental Agreement Summary. Any unused or excess charges will not be refunded.

Mileage - All vehicles have unlimited mileage.

All major debit and credit cards issued by Visa, Mastercard or American Express are accepted. All cards presented must be in the tenant's name. A security deposit and an estimated cost of rent will be charged at the time of lease. Cash, cheques, prepaid cards, Diners Club and Discover cards are not accepted. A deposit of £200.00 is required for all cars and SUVs in the Mini, Economy, Compact, Midsize, Standard, Van and Van categories. These vehicles can be rented by debit or credit card. Large vans, compact elite cars, full size SUVs and all premium vehicles require a deposit of £500.00. For luxury and executive vehicles, a deposit of £1000.00 is required. A credit card is required to rent these vehicles.

Airports only - debit cards are accepted for rentals accompanied by a return ticket or flight itinerary showing the renter's name and return date. Debit cards are not accepted for local customers. Local tenants must provide a valid credit card in the tenant's name. If you use a registered payment source outside the UK, the site is not responsible for any exchange rate fluctuations during the deposit period.

Debit cards are accepted. Credit cards are required for elite, full-size, premium, luxury and executive class SUVs, vans and cars. UK residents wishing to use a debit card will need to pass an online address verification as proof of residency at their given address. Customers who fail the inspection will not be able to rent.

London airports only - debit cards are accepted upon hire with a return ticket or flight itinerary showing the hirer's name and return date. Debit cards are not accepted for local customers. Local tenants must provide a valid credit card in the tenant's name.
